8: اٟ / ṻ (aee) – [ IPA /ɨː/ ] : is the forth long vowel in Kashmiri. The sign ( ٟ ) ‘sāȳ mad’ is placed beneath a consonantal letter for the pronunciation of the vowel (aee). In initial and medial position this character is preceded by Alif ( ا ).
